What to expect
Care begins with a first visit and an in-home assessment, where we learn how you like your home kept, your daily routines, and which tasks feel most overwhelming. From there, we build a personalized care plan that outlines the specific housekeeping support you want and how often. Because housekeeping is part of our broader home-care services, plans are coordinated under registered nurse oversight, with RN delegation provided under the Maryland Board of Nursing where applicable. We make every effort to send consistent caregivers, so a familiar face arrives who already understands your preferences and space. Your plan is reviewed over time and adjusted as needs change. Our services are regulated by the Maryland Office of Health Care Quality, and we work to keep communication open with you and your family. If payment questions arise, we can help you explore private pay, Maryland Medicaid waiver programs, long-term care insurance, or VA benefits, and whether you may qualify.
Common questions
Our housekeeping is non-clinical home support, not a standalone deep-cleaning company. Caregivers focus on light, everyday upkeep, such as laundry, tidying, and dishes, as part of a personalized care plan. It is designed to help clients live comfortably and with dignity at home, and can be combined with other home-care services we provide.
Yes. Many clients pair light housekeeping with personal care, companionship, or other home-health support. We coordinate these services under registered nurse oversight so your care stays consistent. During your assessment, we map out which tasks matter most and build a plan that fits your routine, preferences, and changing needs over time.
Housekeeping may be covered through private pay, Maryland Medicaid waiver programs, long-term care insurance, or VA benefits, depending on your situation. Waiver eligibility is determined by the state, and we can help you explore whether you qualify. We are glad to walk through options with you and your family before care begins.

Delegating Nurse
A delegating nurse is the experienced registered nurse (RN) who stands behind the day-to-day care your loved one receives at home. At Queen Latifat Health in Baltimore, Maryland, our RN reviews each person's needs, identifies which approved tasks may be carried out by trained support staff, and formally delegates those tasks in accordance with Maryland Board of Nursing standards. This structure is designed to keep care consistent and accountable, with a licensed nurse providing ongoing oversight rather than leaving routine tasks unsupervised. As a licensed Maryland Residential Service Agency, we work within the rules that govern nurse delegation, and our practices are subject to review by the Maryland Office of Health Care Quality (OHCQ). The delegating nurse is not a replacement for a physician or hospital care; instead, this role supports organized, well-documented in-home care under nursing supervision by making sure every delegated task is appropriate, clearly documented, and matched to a caregiver who has been trained to perform it.
What’s included
- Initial RN review of the individual's care needs and risks
- Identification of tasks suitable for delegation under state rules
- Formal delegation to trained, qualified support staff

- Individuals with chronic conditions requiring consistent monitoring
- Families wanting professional accountability behind home care

- People transitioning home who need delegated task oversight
- Care teams seeking RN guidance within Maryland regulations
What to expect
Care begins with a first visit, when our registered nurse meets the individual and family to learn about daily routines, health considerations, and goals. From this assessment, the RN develops a care plan and determines which tasks may be delegated to trained support staff under Maryland Board of Nursing standards. Each delegated task comes with clear, written instructions so caregivers know exactly what is approved and how it should be carried out. The delegating nurse provides ongoing supervision, returning for periodic visits to observe care, answer questions, and reassess whether the plan still fits the person's needs. Whenever circumstances change, the RN updates the delegation accordingly. Wherever possible, we assign consistent caregivers so your loved one sees familiar faces and builds trust over time. Throughout, the nurse stays available to the care team and coordinates with the individual's physician, keeping everyone informed and aligned around respectful, person-first support.
Common questions
A delegating nurse is a registered nurse who assesses an individual's needs, decides which approved tasks may be carried out by trained support staff, and formally delegates them under Maryland Board of Nursing standards. The RN provides written instructions, ongoing supervision, and periodic reassessment, so routine in-home tasks are performed with professional oversight rather than left unsupervised.
No. The delegating nurse oversees and directs care rather than personally performing every task. Trained support staff carry out the specific tasks the RN has delegated, while the nurse supervises, documents, and reassesses. This role supports organized in-home care and is not a substitute for a physician, hospital, or acute medical treatment.
Nurse delegation follows standards set by the Maryland Board of Nursing, which define what may be delegated and how it must be supervised. As a licensed Maryland Residential Service Agency, Queen Latifat Health works within these rules, and our practices are subject to review by the Maryland Office of Health Care Quality (OHCQ).
